Is it really positive considering all the additional costs on healthcare and clean up?
Unfortunately it is net positive if you count in pensions.
I read economic research few years ago and the few years less for pension is more than enough to offset the healthcare.
Obesity now is more strain on healthcare than tobacco. Most tobacco users don’t live as long as obese people.
