Ah yes,
exploitationprivatized success: a metric for a functioning society.I’m so confused here, who said anything about a metric for a functioning society?
At the moment Europe is addicted to American companies and struggles to fund and scale it’s own, which means Europeans pour trillions of dollars into the American economy while their own economies struggle.
This only illustrates how you can be happier, healthier and live longer with less.
You have got to be kidding me:

It’s also really cool to see Europe cannot supply enough weapons or tech:

Europe cannot even supply your own satellite services anymore, Europe literally has nothing to compete with Starlink
Musk ordered shutdown of Starlink satellite service as Ukraine retook territory from Russia
“We have to do this,” Michael Nicolls, the Starlink engineer, told colleagues upon receiving the order, one of these people said. Staffers complied, the three people told Reuters, deactivating at least a hundred Starlink terminals, their hexagon-shaped cells going dark on an internal map of the company’s coverage. The move also affected other areas seized by Russia, including some of Donetsk province further east.
Upon Musk’s order, Ukrainian troops suddenly faced a communications blackout, according to a Ukrainian military official, an advisor to the armed forces, and two others who experienced Starlink failure near the front lines. Soldiers panicked, drones surveilling Russian forces went dark, and long-range artillery units, reliant on Starlink to aim their fire, struggled to hit targets.
European countries are coated in debt, you yourself I assume are typing your message in an American web browser or using an American Operating system, with an American CPU and GPU or SmartPhone, if America wanted to it could turn off the European economy tomorrow
The fact that you are so ignorant and seemingly happy at your own lack of success is puzzling
You entirely missed the point I was making. Americans made all those great things, the world depends on them, yet the average American has a worse quality of life and standard than even some 3rd world countries. Besides economy and military the USA lags behind on everything else that an average human values in his short lifetime.
Yes, you have great economy and great tech. Only shame that you can’t eat money nor can money buy happines.
no i got exactly the point you were making, it literally comes up every time someone on lemmy points out that american businesses are doing better than european
there’s nothing to suggest europe can’t have a stronger business environment without turning into the usa
this is exactly what the EU is trying to achieve with the Competitiveness compass
The EU has everything it takes to unlock its full potential and drive faster, more sustainable growth: we boast a talented and educated workforce, capital, savings, the single market, and a unique social model. To restore our competitiveness and unleash growth, we need to tackle the barriers and weaknesses that are holding us back.
In January 2025, the Commission presented the competitiveness compass, a new roadmap to restore Europe’s dynamism and boost our economic growth.

btw you know china is building an asml rival yeah?
lol funny this came up today
From meme to movement: France’s online anti-tax revolt rattles Macron’s Elysée
“Nicolas qui paie” (Nicolas picks up the tab) has become a rallying call for white-collar workers who feel they are being overtaxed to fund a crumbling welfare system.
“It’s going to heat up in the autumn,” said a French official. “We’ve got to cut spending by 30 billion, and we’re not good at cutting.”

You should tell them to be happy with less :)
The US is infected with late-stage capitalism degeneration. Let us wake that we do not fall for the same pit!
We need to break up large companies!
