    It’s odd the author doesn’t even bring up the legal aspect of US providers having their own ideas of what acceptable businesses are, linking the payment system to US national law and moral expectations. Visa and MasterCard have time and again crippled businesses by simply refusing transactions from them on moral grounds - catering to the sensibilities of a different culture and society.

    I am surprised that EU have not made a Visa/mastercard alternative when there are som many domestic versions like Bancontact (Belgium); Cartes Bancaires (France); Girocard (Germany); Bancomat and Poste Italiane SpA (Italy); BankAxept (Norway)

    In general I’m all for the digital euro and have been waiting for it for years. One complained i have about the proposed implementation as explained in the video is the limitation of funds and almost coerced linking to a bank account. That feels like heavy lobbying from banks not too loose their business
