The U.K. government has barred Israeli officials from attending a major weapons trade conference in London amid widespread criticism over the escalation of the war in Gaza. Britain’s Ministry of Defense confirmed to CBS News that representatives of Israel’s Defense Ministry had not been invited to the Defense Security and Equipment International (DSEI) conference, which is held in London every other year.
If this justification is actually genuine, then that’s a good baby step in the right direction and only a year or two too late.
However, I’m guessing that they realise that the usual protests would be exponentially larger this year if Israel was there and don’t want to scare the others off by having that going on.
Either way i take it as a positive, that they finally realize that these relationships are harmful rather than profitable for them. Although that needs to extend from what is in the public eye to all aspects and it is still a long way to go.
