    I think they mean it’s a cop out for people to say “parents need to parent” as a solution. The solution is “society needs to provide more support to parents.” Parenting your kids was a lot more possible when one income covered the fiscal needs of the household.

            A cop out is when an adult skirts responsibility by saying “society is fucked, how could I ever be responsible for taking real care of my own chuldren??”. Again. If you can’t, use protection, don’t have kids. Society is fucked, yes, but adults must be responsible.

          A lot harder to agree with this statement when the abortion laws have regressed so much so recently.

            Accidents can happen, but if you use two contraceptive methods in tandem, it severely reduces the risk of pregnancy. It’s not impossible, it just needs one to be a responsible adult. And, obviously, we should be more vocal about sex education.
