I assumed that you understood that the original joke was about having 0 wishes.

I also assumed that you were making a joke about factorials.

I decided to make my own joke about “!=” in your joke being misinterpreted as the programming symbol for “not equal”.

My statement should be read as “0 is not equal to 1”. This is a vacuously true statement, as it does not rely rely on any input, and is always true.

  • LocalSend for transferring files between devices on a local network.

More self hosting than a program, but Home Assistant has legitimately changed my life. It allows for full home automation run entirely from within your home. The customisation options are effectively as unlimited as programming, while still somewhat holding your hand (unless you go full programming mode).

F-Droid because I hate having ads shoved in my face for daring to use the official installation method for an android app. You may find quite a few apps by smaller development teams or dedicated individuals that suck less than the big apps.

[Lynx](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynx_(web_browser) web browser. Not particularly usable for most tasks, but simple. Very handy if you accidentally delete your desktop environment and don’t have a second device with internet access.

  • I bought a Ploopy Thumb a few years ago. I assembled it myself, and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was (when actually following the instructions).

The small button on the right has broken twice, which wasn’t a problem because I just downloaded the stl file and reprinted the button assembly.

I wanted horizontal scrolling, so I used QMK to make the trackball a scroll wheel when the right side button is pressed (that may explain the faster button wear). It was surprisingly easy, and there was even a comment in the source code pointing out which line I should modify for horizontal scrolling support. I guess they expected people to want this feature.

The price is high, but I don’t expect to buy another mouse unless my needs change. The open source hardware and software is excellent, making repairability 10/10. The edges of the buttons are slightly rough, but I have the 3d printing files, so I get to choose what material it’s made of and what post processing / smoothing is used. It hasn’t bothered me enough to do anything about it.

While I can’t recommend a trackball mouse to anyone, I can recommend Ploopy. It’s one of the few products that I feel like I actually own.
