As someone who is actively moving away from Apple stuff, the hardest thing for me to give up has been Pages. The iPad version is fine, but the Mac version is the GOAT as far as I’m concerned.
But it sucks balls for making anything that needs to be opened on any other editor.
For how good and useful Excel is, it’s overbalanced by how utterly fucking dog shit Word is.
Word is when you have a crap and can’t seem to wipe yourself fully clean. Word is making a morning coffee and finding the milk has gone bad. If it weren’t for the US deciding they’d rather invade the Netherlands than let a single Yank stand trial in the Hague, the entire executive suite of Microsoft would be up on war crimes charges because of Word.
I’m a punk and metal guy at heart. I don’t really get modern pop music, because I’m 45 now and I’m not forming neural pathways while listening to it. But that’s fine, because it’s not for me.
Eurovision is, without a doubt, my favourite week of the year. I’ll watch the semis to pick out who I want to root for, and to jeer at the UK entry which, as a Brit, is my God-given right. I will also throw shade at France, for historical reasons. Come the Saturday, I’ll get a takeaway in, stock up on booze, and get shitfaced, posting along on Mastodon and having the time of life, before waking up on Sunday morning feeling like I’m dying.
And I’ll start the countdown again for next year.
And yeah, Israel can fuck all the way off with what they’ve done to it. And all the other things they’ve done.
I’m fairly new to Android, so have been using Nova on a friend’s recommendation since I got my phone. I installed Kvaesitso and can’t for the life of me figure out how to make it just look like what I’m used to.
I hate this shit. Why do people have to change my stuff!

I kinda wish I hadn’t sold my 2015 MBP Pro when I got my M2 Air. I wasn’t messing about with Linux then, but with hindsight it would have been an excellent machine. I had it running Ventura (I think it was) via OCLP, which was great, but the fans were basically constant. Turns out that it was likely just macOS/OCLP.
Currently running Kubuntu off a thumb drive plugged into my 2011 MBP and I honestly don’t think I’ve heard the fan on it. Running Ventura on the same machine was like trying to work next to a jet engine.
I have a kink for installing Linux on Macs. The only thing I ever have trouble with is wifi, particularly on my 2011 MacBook Pro.
Oh, and the trackpad gets significantly shitter, but that’s just life.
There’s already a bunch of forks, GrapheneOS and LineageOS being two of the most popular.
Trouble is, this affects the app ecosystem. The overwhelming majority of applications are only available through the Play Store. Sure, there are alternatives like F-Droid, but your bank isn’t offering its app through F-Droid.
When did you last see a queue for a new phone?
While you’re not wrong there for the best part: Safari does allow extensions, and has done for a few years now. Functionally, I’ve not noticed much of a difference between Safari and IronFox on my GOS phone.
Even with Graphene, it’s increasingly likely that it’ll be dead to new Pixels in the coming years. And I say that as someone posting this from a Pixel 9 running Graphene.

I have a bunch of old Samsung tablets that are all the same model, but they’re all running slightly different hardware. As a result a couple are running Lineage while a couple are stuck on the stock Samsung/Android because I just can’t root them.
