Yes, it is the lazy way to secure accounts. No defense there.
Yeah this is the cancer that is email 2FA.
Unfortunately email is the only way they have to verify your identity. No email, no account. But this is very much not exclusive to Rockstar.
I changed my email a couple of years ago and it’s absolutely astonishing how many companies are completely unequipped to deal with someone changing or deleting their email account.

Just go to Brave search and search for “news”. It will aggregate the top stories of the day, group the different sources, then provide an AI generated digest of the stories upon request.

I run all of this and much more on an N100.
Installation is the easy part. Good luck 👍
You’re gonna have to get into command line stuff. Bazzite at least bundles scripts to make complex common tasks easier with a single command.
I switched to Slate

I cancelled my reservation after the 16th prototype and 3rd fundamental design change.
What apps are pre-installed? Anything other than the stock Google stuff?
Where are you? What OS?
artyom@piefed.socialto Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•Is the Steam Deck still worth it in 2025? I'd argue yes — but with caveatsEnglish15·23 days agoThe Steam Deck was never supposed to be a powerhouse. It was intended to be extremely high efficiency and long-lasting and to this day no one competes with them on that. Nor do they compete on peripherals or cost effectiveness.
We won’t see another Steam Deck soon, and I think that’s a good thing. Gives developers a hardware target for their games.

Further, if you want to give money to the devs, the other options also make that available without a 30% tax applied to support one of the largest monopolistic corporations on Earth.
And they’re also just better…
The bug was that he didn’t update the OS first. I don’t understand why OSs don’t force this on installation. Some of the better ones do. It causes all kinds of problems.
