It’s certainly doesn’t help that AA has a religious component. I think that turns a lot of people off of it.

And that still leaves 6 hours to, er, “spend with the kids”.
Well that’s why it’s called the hierarchy of needs. Not every need has to be met equally, and you have to meet all earlier needs before you can meet later needs.
E.g. if you’re currently starving to death then you probably aren’t that much bothered about achieving self-actualization, but if you have all your base needs met you’re not going to just sit around you’re going to find something to do, you’re going to be compelled to find something to do.
But if you think about it sex is a pretty important need because if people weren’t driven to it there wouldn’t be anyone to ask the question. Any species that’s not that much bothered about sex died out millennia ago, or become a panda.
I refuse to believe anybody actually reads the Bible. It’s not really laid out in such a way as to be readable, it’s just a bunch of events that ostensibly happened that you’re supposed to gleam some sort of lesson from. It’s really boring actually.
It doesn’t really form a compelling narrative.

Until the invention of video games no one ever killed anyone ever. Then pong came along, and it was mass murder every other day.
Well yeah. That’s the point of 4chan, brains need not apply.

On September 2, the Japanese gaming giant was issued a U.S. patent that covers a somewhat broad implementation of a system for summoning characters into battle. Identified by patent number 12,403,397
Absolutely ridiculous this was even granted. What is the point in the system if people are just going to be allowed to patent general ideas and vague concepts. How about I got patent my idea of a gun game. See you in court every game with guns.

But they’re not, let’s face it, if it’s a competition between yet another mairo cart and a steam deck plus a few indi and AA titles, it ain’t even a competition. The high cost of the steam deck is offset by the low cost of the games.
Echo Dot@feddit.ukto Games@lemmy.world•Amid Palworld Lawsuit, Nintendo Patents a System for Summoning a CharacterEnglish251·2 days agoThat’s nothing. My parent covers thinking of already long established ideas, then claiming them as your own. If you do that, I’ve got you.
Apple are doomed.
I reckon I could do it for one person, but I’d have to cut down on bacon.
But it depends on where you live.
Can’t you just order groceries? Isn’t that a thing in the US?
we just have shit laws around zoning
Yeah above all else I think that is the biggest issue. There are daft rules about the size of carparks that mean that, what would be a local store in the EU, becomes this vast strip mall in the US with 12 acres of parking lot to walk across so you can get your milk.
You practically need a car to just drive across the vast expanses of car infrastructure. Crossing the road in the US is something you have to plan your day around
Who’s putting $200 of gas in their car per month, what you doing driving the Route 66 on a weekly basis? The shops all of 5 miles away if it’s that.
It’s on 4chan so I assume they’ve had a series of short stays in prison for petty vandalism and theft.
You know the types, steal something from a store, get caught on CCTV, and then run home and hide in their mothers basement, who then proceeds to give him up when the cops arrive because he’s a little shit.
I suppose it could be useful if you have the sort of boss that thinks productivity is based on the number of lines of code you write.
I will never understand programmers claiming that AI makes them more efficient. As if Emmett and snippets hasn’t already existed for a decade or so
AI will not replace humans, it’ll just make the existing humans more efficient.
This must be a form of AI that hasn’t been invented yet. I’ve yet to meet a useful implementation.
Well at that point they will all go into their big luxury bunkers. They haven’t really thought further than that, presumably they think that the world will recover if they stay down there for long enough. I assume they think they’re immortal or have cryogenic freezes, I don’t think there is much of a real plan there.
I see that 4chan has got as far as recognising the dichotomy between short-term and long-term gratification. They are evolving faster than I thought possible. Perhaps by 2050 they’ll have advanced as far as common courtesy. Well you never know.
Just because it can load in high quality assets doesn’t mean that everything has to be 4 billion polygons. You use it sparingly for where it will make the most impact. That doesn’t mean that a mountain in the background that you’ll never get near has to be of the same quality.
I don’t think that’s really the engines fault.
