You mean like Batocera, there are a few Os’ that boot straight from usb/sd and let you run emulated games.

If you are benchmarking between Windows and Linux dont use Ubuntu with the gnome desktop, it’s fucking aweful, use Kubuntu with KDE Plasma 6.4 instead running a wayland session, it’s so much more performant and even gives my games a boost.

I find debian more stable than arch, especially when updating.

No normal person will spend that much on a handheld gaming device when they can build a desktop with more performance for the same.

Use whatever Os works for you, no-one should be forced to change what they use.

Suck my balls! Wayland works way better than X11 on my KDE desktop with multiple monitors and gives me a sweet performance boost when playing games with Proton-GE.
