As an American living in America - Tell your countrymen that Trump is a known liar and scam artist.

Americans are suffering right now from everything he’s touched.

What’s funny is that Trump has promised AMERICANS multiple checks over the year. And we didn’t get shit.

And the one time it actually happened was not by him, but his egotistical ass put his name on it anyways.

He can’t buy land from people who don’t really own it.

The best he can do is bribe people to vote for secession. And then I’d argue they don’t get the land, but the point is at best he’s rigging a vote.

Even if they would get that money, it will probably be costlier for them to live under US law after the first two years.

Money isn’t the answer to everything. It’s been stated many times: Greenland isn’t for sale.

And why they won’t/should not even consider this:

    • Trump isn’t know for paying what he owes
    • They will take it back in tax before the ink is dry

      It’s been stated many times:

That doesn’t make it true. Denmark can’t sell it, the people of Greenland can.

Trump is offering them to be part of the North American Technate which provides an abundance of resources.

Of course it’s not sure that that promise will be fulfilled.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technocracy_movement#The_technate

we have passed from a state of actual scarcity into the present status of potential abundance in which we are now held to an artificial scarcity forced upon us in order to continue a Price System which can distribute goods only by means of a medium of exchange. Technocracy states that price and abundance are incompatible; the greater the abundance the smaller the price. In a real abundance there can be no price at all. Only by abandoning the interfering price control and substituting a scientific method of production and distribution can an abundance be achieved.

Trump is offering them to be part of the North American Technate which provides an abundance of resources. Look at the map.

That’s bullshit. Trump wants Greenland’s resources for his empire. The Greenlanders will get exploited and see no benefit to these resources. They will probably lose welfare and gain police brutality.

Did any south american or african colony ever gain anything from being ‘acquired’ by european powers?

I totally agree. But if Musk tells the Greenlanders that they will be part of a land of abundance and that everybody gets $100,000 immediately, I am not sure how they will vote. Americans are not more stupid than others, they are just more influenced.

If America brings that influence to Greenland then there is the possibility that they turn the majority. After all the Greenlanders are watching Netflix, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, X and TikTok and they ask OpenAI for help.

If the EU wants to keep Greenland they should establish the Fediverse there as soon as possible.

I wouldn’t be so sure. From the little I know of Greenland, the people are quite combative of their independence, as all native people are once they have been absorbed by western culture. The prime minister/governor/can’t remember the title said quite clearly that they aren’t for sale.

Also, I don’t feel like 100k/resident is really a lot of money.

To add to that, the population of Greenland is more than smart and well-educated enough to recognize a “we’ll pay you in glass beads for your land”-scenario.

Put it another way, if some bloke came up to you on the street and offered you a hundred grand out of the blue, you’d immediately and rightfully consider what the fuck their angle is. Nobody does that unless they’re guaranteed to gain considerably more than a mere 100K doing it.

He truly is running the US like a business. Particularly, he’s running it like a business that tries to incentivize new customers while ignoring the customers it already has. I’m a US citizen, employed full time, sitting here in my studio apartment eating out of a can of chickpeas, worrying about affording my bills. Where’s my money? Oh, wait, I’m already here, like a customer that’s already locked into a contract. So fuck me I guess.

It is always funny to me that people just pick the first high number they can think of.

Why 100k? Why not 200k? That is an increase of 100%, or even a highly specific amount, say $725892.23?

100k per person laughable small, if you consider how much they generate in revenue for the country over let’s say 20 years.
