      Even if you ignore all of the ethical concerns with this war, there’s no benefit for any other nation. Hell, the only benefit for the US is as a distraction and it’s now become too distracting.

      Continuing the war causes oil prices to increase and also affects international trade in general. Why would I as a leader of a European nation want this situation to continue?

      I can see how Trump managed to bankrupt a casino now.

    The US lifted oil sanctions on Russia. They aren’t being an ally to us, and we have no reason to send our people and resources to deal with their nonsense. Focus on phasing out fossil fuels as soon as possible instead. (This should have been done decades ago, but the second best time is now.)

                Unless Trump is part of the plan. Him being a “Russian asset” allows each US citizen to disassociate and to not feel responsible. People shrug everything off while nobody asks who is in power if Trump is so incompetent. To me that looks like a brilliant plan.

    Uh, how 'bout No.

    Edit: you just know that anyone who comes in, is just going to get blamed by Trump and the Trumpettes for anything that goes wrong - which will be everything.

    And that’s just if they’re lucky. At some point Trump will fuck off and leave them holding the bag - and a bunch of the blame - on occupation-or-evacuation, face some kind of moral depression on rebuilding (you know the US isn’t going to do it, those days are over), and also likely terror attacks on their home soil and infrastructure. So yeah - no thanks. We used up whatever goodwill we had in the voluntary military operation department when we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan.
