Reddit/Digg was a link aggregator, so the fact that this platform is often mostly memes shows how little we’re actually engaging with the web as a network of blogs/personal sites/news etc by now in this world of paywalls, blocking adverts, cookie preferences, and age verification. Do actually share cool stuff you find though.

I lurk, comment, and occasionally post. I’m certainly not one of the 20. I’m not sure what that makes me.
To be fair, even on Reddit, there were about 10000x more lurkers/commenters than there were posters.
Reddit just had a massive population, so there were posters than you could reasonably keep track of.
While the fediverse/Lemmy has grown significantly, it is still pretty small in comparison to the daily active Users on Reddit at its height, shortly prior to the first great exedous.
