Watch USA, this is how you do it.
Do italian police have militarized weaponry. I know what your implying, but our police use more than shields clubs and tear gas.
That’s because you’re not doing it in big enough numbers I guess. I mean every country have had their revolt, strike or whatever ending with the military being called in and starting shooting civilians. It’s not tea time.
I get the protesting part. Thar’s super important, so Kudos to Italy. However, attacking public infrastructure makes somewhat no sense. That’s just annoying the working class and will be repaired with tax money.
Better things to so:
- Attack the embassy of Israel and USA
- Find out what corporations actively help Israel (e.g. Microsoft) and destroy their properties
- block roads to the parliament
- find out what politicians help Israel and where they live. Don’t attack them. Instead color some dolls red and throw them at the politicians or in their yard
- do basically the same things with media outlets
And if all that fails, capture your prime minister and let her watch how you slowly break spaghetti in half.
And if all that fails, capture your prime minister and let her watch how you slowly break spaghetti in half.
Savagery!
The other points make sense, this may be going too far though!
Without knowing too much about the protests in Italy this video really makes them look bad. Half the video is just vandalism that looks like it’s from people who don’t give a fuck about Palestine and just want to trash things. Makes the police look justified in giving them the beating… If you want to convince anyone (your government or fellow citizens (although I’d be curious how many of these “protesters” are actually Italian)) this is not the way.
peaceful protest do not have leverage to change anything.
everything you have been taught about the power of non violent protest have been manufactured as a means of control. now violence can mean a lot of things, which include preventing access to infustructure to throwing molotovs at police.
to get leverage, you must have a sympathetic media presence, and failing that a threat that is ready to be acted upon

Well done Italy, although I don’t agree with the trashing of things and vandalism. I don’t even know what that’s supposed to achieve. The only thing I can think of is that it will make the German, British and American governments claim that they’re right for clamping down on the protests for Palestine.
But with the noise that is being made worldwide, and the headaches that other governments are having to deal with, coupled with Netanyahu’s killing of journalists to stop the news getting out and so he can feed his propaganda having the opposite effect, hopefully things will begin to happen and Israel will start to feel some serious pressure. Fuck Trump, fuck Netanyahu.
FREE PALESTINE!
The one thing these people care about is money. Knowing that, do you think they care that much that these protests are happening in general? No, they don’t. They will care if it costs them though. You need to make the cost of not listening high enough that they learn that you can’t be ignored. If you’re just nice and polite they’ll pat you on the back, tell you you protested “the right way,” and move on. You’ll never get anything out of them.

You’re very close
Poroperty is the only thing the assholes in power recognise.
Yeah it’s too bad for the businesses caught in the crossfire, sincerely, but this will actually have a greater impact. If business is impacted, then rich people stop making money. And they can’t stand that for even a second, so they start sending DMs to their contacts in politics.
Business does not equal rich. They could be struggling and that may be the final straw for them. The only people really benefiting from that are the insurance companies. Might be worth seeing where they have ties to.
Yes that is true, but rich people are impacted when businesses suffer. Think of it like austerity, but it comes from the bottom except the top.
Like I said, I feel bad for the businesses caught in the crossfire, but it’s better in the long run.
I don’t even know what that’s supposed to achieve.
There’s a genocide happening where kids are being murdered daily with the support of worldwide governments. If your entire family and children were murdered what would you do?
I was referring to the trashing of local businesses and buildings. Unless they are zionist Israel enablers, I don’t know what smashing another country up is supposed to achieve. The mass protest on it’s own would get the same message across.
Poor local businesses :'( how will they be able to work and support their country in enabling Nazisrael to complete the genocide!
should we politely be respectful while our governments profit from genocide?
Seems this is a good time to go bat shit crazy
Well done Italy, although I don’t agree with the trashing of things and vandalism. I don’t even know what that’s supposed to achieve.
I don’t agree with respectability politics. I don’t even know what that’s supposed to achieve.
It achieves nothing, so moderates love it.
I don’t agree with the trashing of things and vandalism
This is the minimum for it to have any effectiveness. Polite protests will achieve nothing, they will only be ignored. Especially in such an entrenched right wing and center government like Italy.
Governments will paint this negatively either way, they just can’t wait for that story of someone getting hurt or of disruption to “hard working people trying to get to work”, or painting the protesters as anti-semitic.
It probably wouldn’t be that hard to find out which businesses support Israel and its Zionism. Then, while most wouldn’t condone it, it would be more palatable. In these videos it just seems like a breakaway group smashing up random businesses that people may be already struggling to try and keep afloat. In many cases it may mean that their insurance premiums will go up, so the only people really benefiting from it are the insurance companies. May be worth looking up if any of those have links to Israel.
I’m not sure which businesses got smashed up, but knowing the area around central station there probably is no such thing as small business there. I’ve seen a photo of a Starbucks getting vandalized, so for now I will not be shedding any tears.
This and also the protest is about our country supporting the slaughter of 20 thousands children so far.
Considering this I’d call it a peaceful protest.
Nice one, Italy
I am so god damn proud and they should be too. I hope we germans can at least follow suit. Sadly even our most “neutral” news source has become a propaganda piece of the status quo aka “please be not so obvious about doing genocide, my dear friend Israel”.
I am not going to start about our government, just gonna say being Anti-Zionist is being painted as an right wing extremist and anti-semitic view.
But i hope the people will rise up. I am looking forward to the protests on saturday. It feels so far away, I would love to join Italians today.
Incredible, isn’t it - the actual right wing extremists support Zionism, but being against that gets you painted as “too far right”. I’m from America so I’m used to there being no such thing as left, but goddamn
I feel with you, being Anti-Zionist in the U.S. gotta suck even more.
One thing that has goven me hope is how more people than one might think are ready to change their views once they looked at the oppression and the resulting suffering. They do not need to instantly recognize it as a genocide and still will lose faith in Zionism. I showed my Zionist mom “No Other Land” and she was shocked. I was shocked she watched until the end but oh so proud.
On the off chance of losing some, i am now convinced that i can make more people look at the horrors and help them to form a more educated opinion, that hopefully leads to action.
Heads up mate, not all is lost and you yourself are the evidence that people in the U.S. can be on the left. We can’t let ourselves be beaten down be the mainstream-narrative that is designed to uphold the status quo. These forces are also present right here in the internet so we will have to take it to the streets eventually.
I can’t help where I’m from, but I can control where I end up at least. Took my family back to the UK a few years ago, since we’ve only been Americans for a generation or so. Reason being, I don’t have much hope that the US can improve materially without a full-on regime change - I think obviously the American system contained the seeds of its own destruction from the outset, but the final straw (pardon the mixed metaphor) was Citizens United, which ended up being basically golden handcuffs for all elected officials. Only they can reverse it, and they won’t because it’s their money. It would take some eucatastrophe to undo all that, so I’ll just have to take to the streets elsewhere when the time comes.
I will welcome all american sisters and brothers with open arms.
No war but class war, brethren
