I think this is perfectly fine. I dont think we should really be expecting them to provide support for the entirety of the linux platform when there is so much variation between installs. If its working on steam deck, it’ll work on linux generally.

That, plus I think its to get you more invested. Like if you have the app on your phone you might want to use it again, or youll forget about it and then see it later and think about their product/service/whatever.
In the modern age so many things that should just be websites are apps and many things that should be apps/programs are websites

FSR4 has been great for me. Performance seems slightly worse than FSR3 but the increase in visual quality is well worth it, particularly because IMO FSR4 on balanced both looks and performs better than FSR3 on quality.
I still avoid it when I can because native rendering will always look best, but this is definitely really nice for steam deck where the hardware is much more limited.
On average there are 4.3 births per second, I’m not sure how that compares to in 1970 but its probably still more than 1 so its quite likely someone was born exactly on unix time 0.

I’ve been thinking for a while we need more server side stuff. No worries about infringing on the consumers computer then. Hopefully that ends up becoming something good!

I really hope valve can get VAC into a good space so it can be an example of doing anti-cheat well without having to be a rootkit. Looks like we’re heading towards that point. Hopefully this change will last

At least its 2 games bundled together?
Inb4 they say “its two games, so this will be $140!”

It does need better tagging but honestly thats not the issue here. This is because of the new UK law, simple as.
btop for sure. Shows current processes and their resources usage, us can terminate and kill them from the program kinda like windoes task manager, shows CPU usage/temp, and ram, storage, and network use. Only big thing it doesnt have that I use is GPU monitoring, I use nvtop for that.
For stress testing, mprime is def best for CPU stress test. You may know it as prime95 on windows.

Looks to me like they are just censoring any instance of their username, possibly because it contains their real name.
Edit: also device name

I’m not familiar, but it does look useful. Seems to combine the best of both png and jpg, with the power of jpg’s compression with the option of lossless compression + support for transparency or whatever else you might want to have a channel for

Webp is honestly a really good format for what its made to do. That being said, windows support for it is lacking for some reason. I don’t know why as it’s been common for a long time now.
Also, you can always use ffmpeg to convert to png or jpg or whatever you want. Simple file conversions like that are super easy.

The thing that’s been bothering me is, since when did a local, “ragtag group” of activists have this much influence on the actions of massive corporations? Bigger, more powerful groups have tried and failed to make changes like this over and over again. Why does collective shout have so much pull? It doesn’t make any sense to me.
Was already working fine through proton, but this is great to see as well!
