I’m not responsible for other people’s anger issues. As long as people take this stance we will remain in the endless shitty cycle of people feeling like they have a good given right to drive 10+ over on any road, be it an interstate highway or a residential road where kids are playing.

  • Yeah it’s pretty obvious in this sub who is a hobbyist and who actually deploys or develops on Linux. Yeah I’ve distrongopped and built from scratch and all that great stuff, but at the end of the day it’s hard to beat “noob” distros for initial deployability. Then you can obviously customize whatever you want from there.

  • Honestly the fediverse is already a bit of a privacy nightmare, and people refuse to take it seriously. Our version of this horror will include your comments and voting activity and likely a bunch of other telemetry which isn’t public on reddit. Oh and it won’t just be a single “official” AI agent, it will be dozens of them from every corporate or government which wants to build a user database and keep it around forever.

We could bake real privacy protection into our fediverse apps, but the admins and devs seem to have completely punted on this.
