I volunteer in the community and strike up the political conversations there. Most people prefer to believe a pretty lie over the truth. At least the 60+ folks I get in touch with.
My voice is there, but I am competing against most news outlets and centrist/right politicians spinning their anti-immigrant and pro-war rhetoric. If headlines are put in print, people believe them.
I’m not able to teach people to critically think or question the truth and intent of what the political majority tells them. Sadly, I’ve tried and am at a loss and tired. If you have ideas how to do this, please share.
Good, I love that this is gaining more and more traction. I’ve been boycotting it for a few years now l and truly miss the event.
It used to be a great force of European unity but now has just turned sour and is promoting the opposite. You could unite over the trashy music, the hate for it, the love for it or just the general vibe. There is something there for everyone.
I’m not at all opposed to worldwide participation (e.g. Australia, or when Celine was there for France) but genocidal warmongers can not be welcomed at an event that is supposed to promote peace and unity.
There remains hope for 2027
